ABOUT ME

My name is Belinda Rykenberg. I am a qualified Foundation Phase teacher and I have been teaching for 10 years. For the last 5 years I have been doing short courses in Play Therapy and have a heart to see little people happy, whole and healed.

In March 2018 I resigned from teaching and opened my own business called Life Heroes and the focus is “Creating champions in Life”. Every child is a champion they just may not know it yet.

I am qualified as a life coach and teach and develop an Emotional Development curriculum for children. I have been giving weekly lessons on topics such as how to deal with disappointment, perseverance, my identity, courage etc.

In October 2018 I completed my Post Graduate certificate in Therapeutic Play skills and am now starting my clinical hours as a Play Therapist under the name of ‘Healing Hearts’. This is a dream that I am so privileged to be able to live.

PASSION

For children and parents to know their worth and identity, and to know that they have incredible value and a purpose for their lives. To make a difference in people’s lives; introduce them to the love of Jesus; and help bring about transformation and restoration.

PURPOSE

To improve the emotional state and development of children and adults. To see healthy children and families. For everyone to know that they are a champion and are not defined by what others think or say. They can be a hero in life regardless of circumstances or events and they can rise above any challenge that they face.

HOW?

By understanding how we were designed and what our feelings and emotions are we can learn how to control them and make healthy decisions and choices. This means that we will be able to understand ourselves better and have empathy for others. A hero, by definition, is a helper, supporter, friend and protector. This means every one of us can be a hero. We can help those in need, contribute to the welfare of our neighbours (those around us), and strengthen and build up the weaknesses of others with our own strengths (Romans 15:1,2). We want our children to be admired for their courage and noble qualities, be regarded as role models and make a difference in the lives of those around them. They can be world changers, children of courage, winners, supporters and children who stand up for what is right.

This is done through life coaching, therapeutic play and weekly sessions, giving your children tools to be able to tackle life’s ups and downs with courage and deal with disappointment, failure, perseverance, grit, emotions and more.
